[00:00:03] Welcome to Star Being. I'm Tara, your guide. Blending the wisdom of the stars, philosophy and soul centered conversation. Here we question, remember and reconnect with the stars, with self, with true being. I hope these conversations ignite within you resonance, awakening and a deeper knowing. Together we open to more truth, more magic, more you. [00:00:26] Welcome back to starbeing. I am dedicating this episode to the eclipses because eclipses in Vedic astrology are very important, very significant. [00:00:40] They can bring intense energies and transformations both on a personal and global scale. And so it's really important to talk about. Eclipses are these really dramatic tools that the universe uses for us to pay attention to areas, areas in our life that need to change, but to also put us back on our dharmic path. [00:01:04] I have called this episode the shedding and the healing. [00:01:09] Because we're starting this eclipse season off with a solar eclipse which is connected to a new moon. It's in the Nakshatra of Aslaisa and in the zodiac sign of cancer. And this Nakshatra, Aslaisha is represented as the coiled serpent. [00:01:32] And when we think about the serpent in this context, we want to focus on how the serpent is shedding its skin once it's outgrown it, when, when it becomes too constrictive. [00:01:49] And so really thinking about the shedding, the letting go, the releasing. [00:01:57] And then we're following this up with a full moon lunar eclipse. [00:02:05] And this is in the sign of Aquarius. This is where the deep, deep healing happens. And then I'll go into the details between eclipses. [00:02:15] But all parts of the eclipse are really important for us to pay attention to. [00:02:23] And this is where we want to have introspection, to meditate, to clear, to let go of old baggage, to have that space and time and also to dedicate time to our spiritual pursuits as well. So the idea of paying attention to eclipses or any other astrological event is to harmonize your action with this astrological weather. And so the most powerful way that you can work with this eclipse is understanding where this is transiting, in what house of your birth chart. This gives you so much information on where to focus and how to actually use this energy to maximize. [00:03:13] But also deeper than that, if you know what this dasha period, what planetary period you're running as well, this can also help you because if you're in a Rahu or a Ketu, which is the axis of the eclipse, this can typically be a little bit more intense as well as if you are a cancer rising. Keep in mind, I'm talking From a Vedic perspective or a Aquarius rising, the this you will typically feel the most intense. [00:03:50] So first of all, today, the 12th of August, we have the solar eclipse, New Moon in Cancer, in the Nakshatra of Aslatya. [00:04:01] And this is a really deep teaching of transformation. [00:04:06] It wants us to have the courage to release what we have outgrown, like the skin of the serpent. [00:04:16] And this is where we get to see and return to what is beneath the roles that we're playing, the expectations, the patterns, all of this. [00:04:30] And so this goes into what identities have you created and those roles that you've learned to play, the beliefs that you've carried. [00:04:42] This, the eclipse will bring your awareness to it, it will make it more visible. [00:04:47] And the power of this is the eclipse giving you opportunity to recognize what has completed its purpose and consciously decide what deserves to continue with you and see. This is why having this consciousness of what, what is happening, I honestly don't know how I navigated life before understanding astrology. [00:05:18] I just. There is people out there that are just going with the wave and they have no idea, just the chaos. [00:05:29] And so I am always so grateful to Jyotish, especially when it comes to eclipses, because I can understand my own emotions, I can understand what is coming up for me. But also the greatest thing by far is understanding and preempting that people around me are going to be going through big changes. [00:05:58] So coming back to this energy of cancer, cancer is the heart, it is the womb, it's the home, it's the mother, the family, our ancestry, it's our emotional security, it's nourishment, and it's also belonging. [00:06:20] So it's deeply connected to the maternal principle, the part of life that holds, protects, receives and creates the conditions in which something can grow. [00:06:33] And so the biggest teaching of Cancerian energy is that our inner life matters. This is the part of the chart which shows that. [00:06:43] And so how you feel in your home matters. The people that you allow close to you, what you're consuming, the pace at which you're living, the way that you speak to yourself when no one else is listening, it matters. [00:07:00] And so this is showing us that we want to be creating a life that nourishes us. And so the mothering energy of cancer is going to ask you to consider how well you are mothering yourself, where you need more protection, more nourishment, more rest, more encouragement, what is coming up for you and where are you exceptionally good at anticipating the needs of others while leaving your own needs until last. [00:07:34] Where could you allow yourself to be held rather than always being the one holding everything together? [00:07:40] This eclipse may also bring up your relationship with your mother, maternal lineage, or your own experience of motherhood into your awareness. [00:07:51] You may recognize patterns that have gone through generations, ways of loving, sacrificing, protecting, worrying, nurturing, silencing your needs or how you carry responsibility. [00:08:09] And there is a great freedom in realizing that you can honor the women who came before you without repeating everything that they carried. [00:08:19] And you keep the wisdom and change the pattern. [00:08:24] And these are all themes that have been coming up in my life. I've been shown where I am choosing myself last, still that people pleasing, ingrained, condition, energy. [00:08:37] And also I've been unraveling about Mother Mary, reading a lot about the Mary's and also, you know, memories of my own mother coming up who has passed away and a lot of, yeah, just memory around her. [00:09:01] I recently was trying to find her chocolate cake recipe that I have from childhood and on the farm she used to make it all the time. [00:09:12] And I lost this recipe when I moved a couple of years ago and I. [00:09:19] My nan gave it to me recently and just the, the feelings that came back and the nourishment. I haven't even baked this cake yet, but just seeing the recipe in her handwriting is just the most. I just felt so connected to her in that moment. And there's been some, some big things happening with recipes and nourishment. And I just wanted to share that because it has been so eclipse cancer coded. [00:09:59] I feel this energy has also been deeply about returning to the divine feminine. And that's where I've really been exploring lately. And also the principle of creation. [00:10:11] And the feminine understands the gestation process. She understands that there is a season for action and for waiting and more of this rhythmic, cyclical living. [00:10:25] And that I think of this, where we're in the southern hemisphere, it's winter at the moment, that what is growing cannot always be seen. It's all measured or rushed and thinking about the divine feminine of intuition and nourishment and coming back to those natural rhythms of life. [00:10:48] And so in this way, the eclipse is getting us to listen to that intelligence, intelligence. Where could you receive more or trust your intuition more deeply or really have more of that receptivity in allowing life to meet you. [00:11:07] And also a big one for me has been where have you been so accustomed to doing, producing, organizing and caring for everyone else? [00:11:19] And you've forgotten how powerful receiving can be. [00:11:22] And so there is something deeply cancerian about creating enough safety within yourself that you no longer have to force your life forward. [00:11:35] Like you can listen, respond, allow, receive, and trusting what your body and intuition are telling you. And then when we look even deeper into this energy of the Nakshatra, where this solar eclipse is happening in Aslatia, which is symbolized by the serpent, we can see what patterns we've used to help us belong or protect us or kept us connected in an earlier chapter of our life. [00:12:06] And Aslatia really wants us to look at and have that discernment or recognize what when protection has become restriction. So the belief that you must be needed to be loved, the habit of making yourself easy for others, the need to maintain harmony at the expense of your truth. [00:12:30] The belief that receiving makes you dependent. [00:12:33] The idea that you have to earn rest, love, abundance, or support. [00:12:42] And this is where the eclipse becomes incredibly powerful, because you can start to rewrite these stories that are no longer expanding you and thinking that you know you can have success and spaciousness. Love can include boundaries. Belonging can be. [00:13:03] I can be loved. And without performing and mothering yourself in the way that you can protect your dreams as fiercely as you protect the people that you love. [00:13:17] And so the invitation of this eclipse is really to pay attention to what your emotional world is telling you. Notice where you feel nourished and where you feel depleted, where your body relaxes, where it contracts, what you're tired of carrying, what is the mantra that you're repeating to yourself at the moment in a negative way. [00:13:41] And notice the roles that you no longer want to perform and where you're craving more space, more beauty, more family, more rest, more connection. [00:13:53] And really, this cancerian energy in this eclipse wants you to build a life that is truly nourishing for you. [00:14:03] And everything that is beautiful requires the right conditions to grow. [00:14:10] And you deserve those conditions, too. [00:14:12] So how are you creating that? [00:14:15] Creating the home that restores you, protects your energy. Nourishing your body, allowing yourself to receive, spending time with people that make you feel more like yourself, honoring your intuition, giving your dreams somewhere safe to grow. [00:14:36] And I talk about dreams a lot because I feel our dreams and our sense of purpose, especially as women are so important for our health. [00:14:51] And the big one for this placement as well is releasing the inherited beliefs that love requires self sacrifice. And this is again, something that is deeply encoded into the feminine. And this is where Aslacia reminds you that shedding creates space. [00:15:15] And so what are you wanting to create space for? [00:15:19] And is it more creativity, more nourishment, more connection, more freedom? [00:15:24] And coming back Deeply to yourself, coming home to your cancer, being the sign of the home, our internal home, and also, yes, our physical spaces. [00:15:36] Before I move on to the lunar eclipse, I do want to mention that the period between eclipses is an integral time for integration and adjustment. [00:15:52] This is where the effects of the recent eclipse, the one that we're experiencing right now, it's kind of like the set point, the karmic set point. And then the unfolding happens. And so seeing that as the activation point, and then not everything has materialized yet. And so this is why we want to spend this time in reflection, in processing experiences, in preparing for the changes that may come from the next eclipse. [00:16:26] So then, on the 28th of August, we have the lunar eclipse, which is connected to a full moon in Aquarius, in the Nakshatra of Shadabisha, which means the divine healer or the hundred healers. And the number 100 is symbolic because it's a multiplicity and abundance. And it really shows us with this that there is rarely one, only one path to healing. [00:16:58] Shadow Bisha has this investigation, quality. It wants to understand the pattern beneath the symptom. It wants to discover the medicine that is actually required. [00:17:09] And the Shadow Bisha is also symbolized as an empty circle. And this is really interesting as well, because it represents wholeness, containment, protection, completion, that sacred space. [00:17:24] But because the center is empty, I can also see that an important teaching around it is space. [00:17:33] And so after a slayer shedding the skin, Shadow Bisha leaves you with this empty circle. And then suddenly you have space, you have room. And I really want to encourage you to pause before you feel that again, so you might clear out your schedule and then fill it again, or release an old identity and then rush to decide who you are now. Because through this eclipse season, you've been discovering what you're ready to shed. And now in Shadow Bisha, you're discovering your. Your medicine. And remember, there's a hundred forms of medicine. So leaving enough space in your life for the healing to actually take place. [00:18:24] And then understanding what your medicine is. And it might be made up of many things. It could be a conversation, can be medicine, a boundary, sleep, solitude, community, ending, something beginning, something beauty, truth, changing your mind, your intuition, all of this can be your medicine. And I think truth can also be the greatest healer. The truth about what you want, truth about relationships, about what your body needs, what pattern that you keep repeating, or where you're betraying your own knowing. [00:19:10] And this is powerful. So creating enough space for you to deeply listen and integrate. [00:19:20] So as you navigate this eclipse period, remember that you don't need to have everything figured out. [00:19:27] Pay attention to what is being revealed. [00:19:30] What are you ready to release? And what is your life asking for more of? [00:19:37] Aslacia is the journey of shedding the skin. Shedding the skin that can no longer hold your growth. [00:19:46] And then Shadabisha is completing that by asking you to leave enough space for the medicine to find you. [00:19:54] So between the eclipses, creating that space, listening, questioning the beliefs that have shaped your life, this is so important. [00:20:04] And trust what you're beginning to see differently, allowing yourself, because that is, I think, the greatest gift of eclipse season is the opportunity to see your life differently enough that you begin to live it differently. And so what are you willing to release now so there is space for the life that is trying to meet you. [00:20:28] I hope that you have taken something away from this episode. I would love to know what is unfolding for you. [00:20:37] Please share with me on Instagram. I have some incredible new guest episodes that I'm going to be releasing over the next month that I know that you're just going to love at the moment. The ways that you can work with me.
