[00:00:00] When we look at the Vedic tradition, it doesn't recognize the beginning of the new year on the 1st of January.
[00:00:08] So this is your standard calendar that I'm referring to. And this is basically a human construction. It's just the particular energy of this Vedic new year and the tone of it is really.
[00:00:25] Welcome to starbang. I'm Tara, your guide. Blending the wisdom of the stars with philosophy and soul centered conversation. Here we question, remember and reconnect with the stars, with self, with true being. I hope these conversations ignite within you resonance, awakening and a deeper knowing. Together we open to more truth, more magic, more you.
[00:00:48] Welcome back to starbang. I took a little bit of a break because I think it's really important with this podcast because. Because it is a heart project for me and a way that I want to deeply connect with you.
[00:01:07] Because if you've been following me for a while, you know that my background is a marketer and so sometimes I can get caught up in all the things that you need to be doing right for the metrics, for the reach.
[00:01:24] And I'm just not interested in that anymore. I am quite rebellious in my nature. And you know, your how a podcast works, just in case you want to know, is to get the, the best stats, the best reach, and to actually be on the chart, you need to be releasing a podcast episode each week. And that was my intention for, for this next season.
[00:01:55] And then I realized that when I speak to you, I want to be in alignment. Like I want to have something to say. I don't want to have to sit down and like fabricate and make something up that I want to talk to you about because I was just like, your time is, you know, I value. So yeah, it has to be very intentional. So I was waiting until I got that sacral like yes, and I now have that and I now. And that was a little while that nothing was sort of sparking joy. Like I was thinking about people that I would want to interview and it just, it wasn't bringing me joy and I wasn't going to force it for the first time in my life. And so now that is back and I'm very excited about the direction, who I'm going to be speaking to.
[00:02:51] And yeah, just with this format. So this is the explanation there in terms of what is happening for me right now.
[00:03:03] If you're following me on Instagram, which I've just actually realized that apparently if you listen on podcasts, you don't get many people that are following you from Instagram, people that are on podcasts, are genuinely don't follow you on Instagram. So I'm just going to say this here that I have released a book club. It's not an ordinary book club. It's called Lumen and it is where women are coming together. And we're going to study this text.
[00:03:37] I have just released an email with the details of the book that we're going to be studying. It's going to be running for three months. We're going to meet online through three times.
[00:03:50] And it's just an opportunity where we can go deep into a text and really digest it and speak about it. And I am an avid non fiction reader and there are so many books that I want to read. And this just felt really good to have other people that I could speak to about these incredible books that I'm reading.
[00:04:25] So this is why I have created Lumen. It's been something that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I have this bigger impact that I want to make bringing people back to reading, especially texts like this, ones that.
[00:04:40] Look, I'm not against fiction text. I just, I have an issue. Not that it's a waste of time, but I just, I just want to maximize what I am and be really mindful about what I'm putting into my mind. I have a very full life and I have a lot happening and this is just me. But I don't need to read about like love, romance, like I just, I, I have that in my life. I, I don't need to read about it. And so that's why I devote my time to reading non fiction. And really like I have this quest to seek to.
[00:05:27] For me, it's not so much I know that we have all the answers within, but when I'm reading a text, it's like I have a remembrance. Like it sparks something in me. Like a sentence activates something in me. So it's not necessarily that you're learning new information. It's just like when I do my soul readings and my clients come to me and they're, they just said, you know, I already know this in the depths of my soul. It's just that you're, you know, confirming it, like bringing it to the surface. And that's what books are for me. They really activate that. And so that is Lumen. So that is where I have been putting my time.
[00:06:09] And also I have been doing the Vedic Planner as I'm going to speak about in this podcast. We're talking about the Vedic New Year and going Deep into that in this episode.
[00:06:22] And so I have the Vedic Planner. This is only going to be available for those in my Shears Cosmic community, which is my monthly membership on the moon cycles where we go into where the moon is transiting for you so you can be working on these areas of your life. So really working with the cosmic energy and practically implementing it into your life. I, it's been, it was very powerful to me. And like anything that I bring in to creation, if it's been powerful for me, if it's changed my life in a way, then I want to bring others on for. On the journey. And so this is a really high touch, intimate space. My, my membership and it only opens, I think last year, I opened it twice a year.
[00:07:13] And it is that way for a reason. Like everything that I do, I just want to be very intentional, really curated about it. And again, like this is not with my marketing hat on. It's like I've gone against everything I've learned in marketing and doing it my own way. And that feels really good for me. So I just wanted to bring you up to update with what I have been up to. And then I want to speak about the incredible cosmic energy that we have coming up. And so obviously if you're listening to this podcast, you've been feeling it. So I've been talking about this for a very long time because at the end of the year, and I'm talking about the calendar year here, when it gets to 31st December, it never feels good, complete for me. I am not winding down.
[00:08:04] I am in full activation mode. And you will notice if, if you have been following me for a while, that it is the period where I typically work the hardest because it's just the way that I follow the cycle. Here in Western Australia, it's summer, there's a lot of pitta fire energy.
[00:08:26] And I feel that I get a lot action implemented. And I started allowing myself to work this way the last couple of years and that has felt really good for me. I typically take some time off with the Vedic New Year and this just feels really good for me. And the more that I live this way, the more that I'm in tune with the cosmic rhythms.
[00:08:54] Energy aligns, opportunities align. Like, everything works so much better. And when I'm. When I mean better, I mean like we need to know when to push and when to pull, otherwise we're just going to be burnt out.
[00:09:09] And so this is a way that works for me. So I hope that you get some takeaways from this episode. So first I wanted to speak about the astrological and I guess the astronomical significance of, of this time. Because in the Vedic lens of the world, nothing is neutral, nothing's mechanical. Time is always talked about as being alive, as being a form of consciousness, as, you know, moving through cycles. How time carries this intelligence, it carries intention, and it carries rhythm. Like I've just spoken about, and I've been speaking about on my Instagram about the, the Reishis and the Reishis, if you don't know, are the ancient sages. So I'm going to refer to that term in this episode, I'm. I'm sure.
[00:10:10] But these are the sages who perceived the laws of the universe.
[00:10:15] And they speak about time not in, as something that is linear or flat.
[00:10:24] The way that we're taught in our modern world time is. They understood it as cyclical, as breathing. You know, the, the like that push and pull, that inhale and exhale, and it's seasonal and it's, it's deeply connected with what is happening with the cosmos. And it's just like our own body has its rhythms and nature has its seasons. The universe is moving through that beginning, maturation, dissolution, and that renewal phase.
[00:11:02] And so when we look at the Vedic tradition, it doesn't recognize the beginning of the new year on the 1st of January. So this is your standard calendar that I'm referring to. And this is basically a human construction. It's just.
[00:11:17] Whereas the Vedic calendar, which I'm referring to is happening on the 19th of March, 2026 year. And in Vedic cosmology, this year is determined by the sun, the moon, the rhythms of the nature. And so the new year begins not when we decide that it begins.
[00:11:41] It's same with the seasons. And I could, I could speak about this for days, but you know, the seasons don't start on, on the first. It's the same as like the, the sun sign moving into a new constellation. There's, there's, there's certain rhythms, like certain sign signals that begin a new cycle.
[00:11:59] And so this, if we're looking at the calendar year 2026, this point of transition from a Vedic lens is like I said, 19th of March.
[00:12:09] And what is making this such a powerful time is that there's other cosmic events happening at this time. We have the new moon in Pisces as well as the next day we have the equinox. And this is also the beginning of Navatri, which is the nine nights devoted to the awakening of the divine feminine.
[00:12:35] And so these potent, energetic events, you can say, are creating this powerful energy.
[00:12:46] And so to understand this a little bit more, I want to take you into the energy of Pisces.
[00:12:51] Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac. It represents the end of the journey. It's the disillusion of identity back into the ocean of consciousness. It's connected to the water element.
[00:13:08] Pisces is a sign that reminds us that before anything new can be born, the previous cycle it needs to dissolve.
[00:13:19] And this is why it talks about Pisces and the wave, because it's about that unity, like coming into that one consciousness, but it's also the wave returning to the ocean before another wave rises. And, you know, same with life. Life moving through those phases of completion before it begins again.
[00:13:43] And so at this time of this new moon in Pisces, it is happening in the Nakshat Utra Baddhapara.
[00:13:55] And in Vedic astrology, if you haven't come across Nakshatras before, these are also known as lunar mansions. They're a deeper layer of the sky. So when you say the new moon in Pisces is in Pisces, that's quite general when it comes to Nakshatras. Nakshatras are like a magnifying glass of exactly where the new moon is in the sky.
[00:14:20] And it gives more qualities that we can understand so we can really work with the energy. And that is what I do in my membership, because we want that depth and deeper understanding of the energy.
[00:14:34] And so this particular Nakshatra is associated with wisdom and depth and more of our soul evolvement. It's interested in our spiritual maturity, in our authority that comes from living through many cycles of life.
[00:14:54] And so at the same time, we are going to be experiencing the equinox, which is the official changing of the season.
[00:15:03] So, again, not when we're told that the seasons change, but this is significant because it happens twice a year, this equinox. And this is when the Earth reaches a state of balance.
[00:15:24] And it's when the day and night become exactly equal.
[00:15:31] And there's so much symbolism in this, and I've gone through this before in episodes on here, but light and dark, like, are in equilibrium. So it's kind of like this reset point. And it's kind of like that expansion and that contraction, they're. They're really held in that perfect symmetry. And so from this Vedic lens, the equinox is this cosmic balance. And it's this moment where the universe is, like, taking that breath, like taking that pause before that next movement in creation begins.
[00:16:10] And so this is why the equinox is always really acknowledged and is seen as so powerful, because it's all connected back to the gateways of time.
[00:16:25] And, you know, this. This is why it's recognized and how powerful it is when we work with it.
[00:16:32] And so having this new moon in Pisces, the equinox, we begin to see this deeper layer of. Of what is. Is happening. So Pisces is dissolving the old cycle. The equinox is restoring balance between light and darkness.
[00:16:52] And the new moon is giving that seed of the new year. Like it's. It's planting that. And so then next month, because we're talking Vedic here, next month, the sun moves into Aries, and this is where that initiatory energy happens and the movement begins.
[00:17:16] And what I love about following the Vedic calendar is you're always reminded that creation never begins suddenly. It always begins in silence in that gestation in the unseen.
[00:17:33] And the Reishi's really understood this, that, you know, life does unfold through those stages. And like, it's that development of, you know, going back to that seed analys the seed developing beneath the soil before it merges into the light. And we. And I think this is really symbolic of this new moon in Pisces. It's really giving us that pause and that moment to really come into alignment before we start moving into action. And so that is why this period is a really powerful time for reflecting on the year, for prayer, for sacred intention, really what you want to be focusing on, what you want to plant in your consciousness during this time, because this becomes the direction of the cycle that follows.
[00:18:22] So this is why we want to give it intention and.
[00:18:26] And really see it as sacred.
[00:18:28] And I also want to mention the other layer here, which I worked with Navatri last cycle very deeply, and it was incredible. So I am going to do that again this year. But Navatri is also starting again. And this means the nine nights. And it's his sacred festival that's devoted to the awakening of the shakti, the divine feminine power that is animating all of creation. And so when we view Navatri in the context of the new moon and the equinox restoring the balance, it. It becomes, when we layer this, a sacred process of clearing, of nourishing and awakening, that.
[00:19:23] That shakti and that deeper intelligence within us. And so it's almost as though the. The cosmos is setting us up through this ritual of renewal, you know, release and balance and awakening that is really going to support the next chapter of our life. And the particular energy of this Vedic New Year and the tone of it is really interesting. And I've been wanting to speak about this for a while because it is quite different from what we've been told about the. The fire horse energy.
[00:19:57] So this Vedic New Year that we're heading into is known as the Siddharth. And this translates into the one who fulfills purpose or the one who accomplishes what they set out to do. And this word is associated with the idea that life is purposeful, it's not random, and that each of us carries dharma a specific role.
[00:20:26] And this really suggests that this is a year which actions undertaken in alignment with our Dharma have the potential to reach fruition.
[00:20:40] And I think with the fire Horse energy, there has been a lot of talk about, you know, the. A lot of, like, endless beginnings, like the initiation, let's go, movement.
[00:20:54] But it's very interesting because I saw that the translation of this year could either be the year one or the year ten.
[00:21:06] And I dived into the energy of year ten.
[00:21:11] And this resonated with my soul so much more than a year one.
[00:21:17] And the Vedic year also is in more alignment to the year 10, because year 10 is more of the completion cycle, and it contains both the ending and the reset, whereas a year one is only that initiating spark.
[00:21:39] And this year, for me personally, feels like everything that has been in.
[00:21:50] In the wings, slowly getting developed, thinking, being thought about, spoken about, like this is the time that it is coming into fruition. Like this is the harvest time.
[00:22:03] And that's where I feel that way, thinking it is the fire horse energy, that momentum, because that is there. But it feels like it's in a deeper way. It's like finishing what our soul has been asking us to do.
[00:22:19] And I also want to mention that there's a second quality of this Vedic New Year, and it's referred to as rudra. I don't know if I'm pronouncing this correctly, but it is related to the deity Rudra and its name. And what it means is it means. It translates to Howling One or the Fierce One.
[00:22:48] And I think this is really interesting to mention because it's this raw power of nature that it's going to destroy stagnation and restore vitality.
[00:23:01] And we can really see what's happening in the world at the moment.
[00:23:06] And with this energy, he is both feared and revered because the storm is cleansing the atmosphere, and it's also removing what has been diseased, what has been corrupted.
[00:23:23] And so that energy of Rudra is that purification through intensity. You know, the lightning that's clearing the sky, the fire that's burning away what has outlived as purpose.
[00:23:37] And then so those energies paired together, I think it is really suggesting a year that is, like I said about the. The long developing cycles, they're reaching their completion. It feels as though the illusions that once sustained those cycles, you know, can be stripped away in that process.
[00:24:01] And so in when we look at the ancient cosmology, it's considered a necessary phase of renewal. So the Reishi's understood that creation moves, like I said, in four stages of the emergence, the growth, the dissolution, and the rebirth. And without that dissolution, life stagnates. And same with that purification, without that, that clarity can't arise. And so there is some of that fierceness in the energy of the year.
[00:24:39] The planetary leadership of this year, it sort of adds another layer of meaning to this.
[00:24:47] The new Vedic year begins on Thursday. And the ruling planetary force is Jupiter. And in Sanskrit it's known as Guru, or the planet of wisdom, knowledge, spiritual guidance. And so Jupiter represents teachers and philosophy and sacred law.
[00:25:07] And so in that traditional thought of a Jupiter ruled year, it is really going to support growth of learning, ethical leadership, and more of this revival of deeper philosophical inquiry, which I'm really excited about. And I'm starting to feel that because I'm craving it.
[00:25:31] And so alongside Jupiter, we also have the minister planet that is responsible for implementing action, which is Mars. And so Mars is the planet of courage, of more of that decisive movement. And so we have this energy of Jupiter and Mars working together.
[00:25:52] And again, a very powerful combination because it's kind of like this wisdom guiding action.
[00:26:01] And so those two energies can relate to reform, to leadership, to rebuilding structures that are based on stronger, more ethical foundations.
[00:26:17] And so when we're placing all these energy together, I really feel that this year carries that potential for completion, but also this energy of honesty, of courage, and these illusions that once seem really comfortable in our reality, like starting to dissolve and the actions becoming more aligned with our truth and the fruit coming from those aligned actions. And so I think it's really important when we're talking about projecting the future. And you know, I've got a lot to say about that, but what I always bring it back to is that the ancient sages, so the Reishis, they had this understanding that time was never meant to create fear or prediction in this way. It's just, it's. It's seen as a way that we can come into alignment. We want to observe the quality, the tone of the time.
[00:27:28] And you choose. Choose actions that are, you know, harmonizing. And so this is. So what I will say to you is I really feel this energy of this year is an invitation to purposeful action to gain that clarity. A year that is going to reward integrity.
[00:27:54] It's going to reward devotion to truth. And it's really going to help you complete unfinished chapters and. And have the courage to step into your Dharma. So knowing that, how are you going to move different if you're feeling like this time is really supporting you? The. The cosmic energy is supporting you in this. And I think when we zoom out and we view the. The larger picture, we see Pisces New Moon is dissolving the previous cycle. We see in reflection, we really think about the lessons learned. Then we're moving into equinox, which is restoring the balance, restoring the balance in our. In us.
[00:28:42] And then this beautiful Navatri, awakening the Divine Feminine, which I feel is going to be very, very strong this year.
[00:28:53] And it is just a really powerful message from the cosmos that we, we have this energy to work with.
[00:29:02] And so with working with the energy of this year, because I really like to make it practical.
[00:29:08] I think instead of the traditional way that a new year is viewed, Vedic New Year is more about coming into alignment. So spending time in reflection, in prayer, in intention setting, aligning your life with Dharma rather, you know, rather than desire.
[00:29:28] And so taking some time to ask yourself some reflection questions and sitting and contemplating with this and on the new moon, this will be especially potent.
[00:29:42] But what cycle in your life is ready to go, to be completed with integrity?
[00:29:47] And where have you been holding on to something that has already finished its purpose?
[00:29:54] What truth have you known for a long time but hesitated to live?
[00:30:00] And maybe the most important question is, if I trusted my soul completely, what would I finally complete this year?
[00:30:15] And I'd love you to write that down and revisit it because, you know, we really want to focus this year on becoming clearer, stronger, and more aligned with our purpose.
[00:30:29] And, you know, where the work of those past cycles are finally coming into fulfillment.
[00:30:39] And so that is my message. That is what I want to speak to you about.
[00:30:45] So I would love to know if this resonates with you. Please send me a message on Instagram if you do follow me over there or you can email me.
