[00:00:03] Speaker A: Welcome to Star Being. I'm Tara, your guide. Blending the wisdom of the stars, philosophy and soul centered conversation. Here we question, remember and reconnect with the stars, with self, with true being. I hope these conversations ignite within you resonance, awakening and a deeper knowing. Together we open to more truth, more magic, more you.
[00:00:27] Speaker B: Welcome to starbing. If this is your first time tuning in, hi. I hope that you enjoy this episode and if you've been tuning into starbing for a while, thank you for coming back and listening. And this is an episode that I want to do on the upcoming eclipses and I have a membership that I've been running for the last five years and it's very high touch in the fact that and I haven't changed the format over those five years that I every two weeks with the new moon and the full moon, I do a video talking in depth about the the zodiac sign that the New York full moon is in and also the Nakshatra. And if you are new here, I do Vedic astrology. And a Nakshatra is a lunar mansion.
What does that mean? Well, basically it means that the if you picture in your mind's eye the round zodiac wheel and it has the 12 houses, Vedic astrology breaks this further into 27 segments. So instead of the 12, you've now got 27.
So as you can imagine us knowing where this energy of the new or full moon placed in a Nakshatra gives us such a deeper intimate understanding of.
[00:02:13] Speaker A: Exactly the energy that we're working with.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: And this membership is currently closed at the moment. I only open it a couple of times a year, but I do have a wait list and I also give personalized voice note updates of where this is transiting for you. So you can really deeply understand because when we start working with the moon cycles and our own Vedic chart, this is where we become more conscious in life. So we've become more conscious of our thoughts and our actions. And I feel this is why I have such long standing members because it is just a really conscious way to live and I love it.
So I'm going to be reopening that next year in 2026. So again, if you want to be on that white list, I only open up a couple of spots because yeah, it's, it's very individual and it takes me a lot of time to do. So I really haven't wanted it to get too big. But it's something I deeply love because I get to journey with the women in this intimate container. And the longer you stay, the more I know what is happening in your life, and it just means I can read even deeper.
So. Yeah.
So why I was saying that is because I normally don't give therefore information around the new moon or the full moon, but when it comes to eclipses, these are very different.
And so this is why I wanted to, to go into, in deeply into the energy so you can have that understanding. So when we have the full moon, so we have a lunar eclipse coming up which is connected to a full moon, it is happening in Aquarius and in the Nakshatra of Pruva Buttapada.
And this is happening on, depending where you are in the world on the 7th or 8th of September, and then the following new moon, which is connected to this is then a solar eclipse.
And that is happening depending on where you are in the world on the 21st or 22nd of September.
So during this eclipse window, I do let my clients know that this is typically a time that can be.
[00:05:09] Speaker A: Ungrounded.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: But also the energy can be a little bit disruptive and chaotic. So I typically don't advise travel during this time. If you have, if you have booked travel, please do not freak out.
You. I, I honestly believe if you have booked something, if you're meant to be somewhere, it's just karmically how it is. But if you have an option not to, you know, especially at the start of the year, like, I will look at these dates and I will keep it in mind.
That's what Vedic astrology is about. It's not about being disempowered and fearful around this. So I just want to preface this episode with that.
And so coming back to this lunar eclipse energy that we have in Aquarius, typically eclipses from the very ancient times are not seen as a time of celebration or a time for manifestation or anything like that. And I do see a lot of Western astrology say that it is. Which.
[00:06:28] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:06:29] Speaker B: Is just.
It's just intense and it's just. And it comes back to that mockery of astrology. So Vedic astrology is a science and it's connected to the astronomy. And so when you disregard like the.
[00:06:50] Speaker A: History.
[00:06:54] Speaker B: It just feels like surface astrology. And so that's what I will say about that if you follow me on social media. You know, I'm quite vocal about Western astrology because I originally followed Western astrology and did Western astrology until I came across Jyotish and I was like, oh, no wonder I couldn't. Which is Vedic astrology.
I was like, no wonder I couldn't get into it because in my opinion, I'm like, it's wrong, it's wrong. And because I studied astronomy at university, astrology was always seen as a mockery. But I understand now because western astrology isn't connected to the astronomy. So that is why astronomers are laugh at it. But I don't think they would be that, like they're not going to laugh at Vedic astrology because it is directly connected to the astronomy. Okay, that's what I want to say about that. Side note, tangent.
And so when we have a lunar eclipse, this is when the Earth's shadow covers the moon. And so when we think about that, that means like something deeper is happening. And so this is what the ancients understood. They knew that this was a cosmic interruption. It was a door way of karma.
And they did a lot of preparation for this in terms of like what we're talking about now, like how to work with the energy. And they saw it as, like I said, not a time for celebration, but as a time of purification. It's where shadows rise. It's where illusions lift. It is. You know, typically, historically it was when there was chaotic times. And it doesn't have to always be that way. It and personally collectively.
[00:08:58] Speaker A: But this is when the boundary between.
[00:09:01] Speaker B: The world thins and a lunar eclipse was seen as a reset point. It's this chance for truth. And I always, when I talk about eclipses, I always talk about it. It's like the universe's way of realigning us to.
If you want to say, I know this is a very loaded word, but destiny, it's. If we've really strayed from our path, I, I kind of see it like a Saturn return, you know, at this point where we, where if you haven't made the decisions that you need to make and you've been stalling on things and you haven't done what you need to do, this is typically a time that eclipses will intensify it. So it becomes so unbearable that you, you want to make the move. And this is why I see so many big life events happening during this, these eclipse seasons and big things. Like, I'm talking about deciding to move, quit your job, get a new job, like move house, have a bab, like, or you know, all these big life milestones, you know, break up with your partner, the. These big things.
And so that's what I want to say about that. And hopefully this is, hopefully this isn't scaring you.
But equally, you know, that's. And that's not all bad. You Know, because when we're thinking about. It's realigning us, it is. We always want to remember it's bringing us back to our path.
And if we're in a benevolent universe, then it's always wanting the best for us. So if we can keep that in mind. If there is any chaos or disruption in the back of your mind and even if you can't see it yet, like, yeah, like it's to be revealed. And so this can be an incredible opportunity or doorway. So things that you thought were maybe five or 10 years away, it's not uncommon during an eclipse period for that time to just speed up. Like it, it warps this warp speed. And so there could be some incredible opportunities coming your way as well. So I just want to put that out there. It's not all doom and gloom. There is, you know, equally depending on where this is placed for you and, you know, the, the karmic nature of.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: Your chart, it can be incredible for.
[00:11:48] Speaker B: You during this time. And you'll see people around you, like, some will be absolutely thriving and some are not.
And I'm just laughing because it. You have to. You just, you just have to. And I think learning Vedic astrology has.
The thing that it has given me is that saying, this too shall pass.
You, you see it, you see it coming and it gives you. There's also this other saying that we use in Vedic astrology, which is forewarned is forearmed. And so just having. It's like a weather report. It's, you know, you know, to take the umbrella because it's going to be raining. There's like a high chance of rain. That's. That's how we're looking at this.
[00:12:42] Speaker A: And so coming back to the significance.
[00:12:45] Speaker B: Of eclipses, especially when it comes to Vedic, they're not just this astronomical phenomena that we're talking about, but it's also these spiritual opportunities as well as, you know, it could potentially be a spiritual crisis as well.
So what actually happens with the eclipses? These are connected to the lunar nodes, which in Vedic astrolog are Rahu, the north node, and Ketu, which is the south node. And these are known as the shadow planets. And Rahu consumes the moon's light during a lunar eclipse. This is how it is being told mythologically.
And so we know Rahu is the.
[00:13:32] Speaker A: Dragon'S head, and the dragon is actually headless.
[00:13:39] Speaker B: And what this means is that it is forever hungry. It's never satisfied. It's always consuming.
And so if you look at your own chart and you See where your North Node is. You see what house that is in. And the house represents a different area of your life where you have Rahu. This is where you're likely to be obsessed with something.
And for me, this is in my ninth house, which is all to do with high knowledge publishing.
And that is 100% my obsession.
If I could just sit and read higher wisdom all day, every day, that is what I would do. And so look at yours, because you. You have. You just laugh when you. You see it. Yeah. You'll be like, yeah, of course.
So then we have k2, which is the south node. So k2 is the tail of the. The headless dragon. And so this is.
The tail is detached. It's more.
It's more spiritual as well.
And we typically would connect Ketu to past lives.
So if you've had a reading with me, we go deep into your nodal placements because it's really important to understand the North Node, where our soul is, is heading in this lifetime. And also key to what past lives that we've had previously, not to get caught up in the past, but to understand ourselves and why we have certain ingrained patterns.
I think it is so liberating and so helpful.
So when the moon, which. The moon is connected to our emotions, our mind, it's also our ancestral memory. So when this is swallowed by Rahu, which is what happens in a lunar eclipse, it signals a time where our clarity is obscured.
And this is why during an eclipse period, I will typically tell my clients, not if you can help it, to not make any big decisions.
And I'm laughing because if any of this, I have this one best friend, and she.
And obviously, like, she has access to me, like, you know, intimately. And she will. Will go against this advice and, you know, then has not worked out well in the past. So that is why I'm laughing. I'm thinking of her as I'm saying this. And so traditionally, in ancient times, they avoided beginnings of anything because it's not auspicious during eclipses. So I will say to my clients, don't start anything new.
And instead, we're using this time as a time for spiritual practices. So mantra, deep inner work.
People also fast do prayer. And so why this is is because eclipses are times of truth.
So they bring what was hidden into the light. And sometimes, yes, that can be painful.
But this is also a time where illusions are stripped. So maybe in this season you see things for how they really are. Then this is where a lot of I see happen over so many years of doing this and people get exposed. And so karmic patterns are ready to end. And so this is why it becomes a really.
Can be.
Can be a quite a chaotic time.
[00:18:05] Speaker A: I also want to mention here that in ancient times and from a Vedic lens, do not look directly at the eclipses because, no, just don't do it.
And the ancients also knew that eclipses can obviously cause this spiritual turbulence, but Rahu and Ketu can also disrupt the natural flow of prana.
[00:18:37] Speaker B: So prana is our breath. It's a life force.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: And so coming back to that, losing that clarity. And so instead, using these, the eclipses as you know, for releasing karma, letting go, acknowledging the impermanence of all things.
And also that the moon represents our maternal line, so our ancestral memory. And so when it's eclipsed, it stirs up ancestral patterns, unresolved traumas, karmic debts.
And so this is why ritual and.
[00:19:20] Speaker B: Prayer and.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: You know, giving reverence to the ancestors was really emphasized during, during these times.
And so coming into the energy of this actual upcoming eclipse.
So this is happening in the zodiac sign of Aquarius.
And Aquarius is the sign of the visionary, the rebel, the humanitarian. And so Aquarius is not. Not the self. It's a big collective.
And so this energy is asking, what is your role in collective evolution?
Are you contributing to society in a way that is authentic to your truth?
Where have you been outsourcing your power to the crowd? And instead of standing in your own unique vision?
And Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, and in the modern times, it's also associated with Uranus.
And so when we're looking more at the Vedic energy of Saturn, Saturn is responsibility. It's discipline, it's karmic reckoning.
And, and so Saturn, being the ruler, is asking, are you ready to take responsibility for the collective dreams you carry?
Are you hiding your vision out of fear of being different?
Because Aquarius is against conformity. It's wanting courage and the courage to stand alone so that the future can be different.
And from a Vedic lens, we are at the tail end of Pisces.
So in Vedic thought, we are not in the age of Aquarius like Western astrology says we are.
But you will know the Aquarius energy because you've heard the songs about it and it's been spoken about, but it is this.
It's this future vision.
And so when it comes to the deeper energy, we go into the Nakshatra. It's in Purva Bhattapara. And this is a.
A very mystical Nakshatra, the deity of this is a one footed serpent or a dragon. And it is connected to lightning storms and transformation.
And this Nakshatra sits between Aquarius and Pisces.
So it is really bridging the material world and the spiritual world.
So this Nakshatra can bring qualities of burning illusions, awakening, higher truth. So this intense spiritual fire, it's also about duality. So it's got one foot in the material, one in the transcendent.
And this is also the Fire dragon. So it's representing both destruction and liberation.
So under this eclipse, in this Nakshatra, it really asks us, what illusions in your life are ready to be burnt away?
What truths are you willing to face even if they dismantle your comfort?
How can you turn your suffering into wisdom for the collective good?
And as you might be picking up, the Fire Dragon is not gentle, it is a transformational energy.
And again, coming back to that radical awakening and awakening in my experience is it doesn't have that gentle, you know, it's, it's very devouring energy.
And so, but this, this is where the opportunities are to tap into the bigger collective vision.
So thinking about we are a drop in the ocean. We're thinking about how we are in the ocean and what is the ocean. So thinking about that collective ideal, how are we contributing is something that I just want you to ruminate on.
And so when it comes to like what we can do during this time, what I would advise is taking some time to be in contemplation and consciously releasing illusions about, about belonging with this energy.
Are you conforming to that safety? Are you standing in your soul truth? I think this is one of the most important things about coming here for this incarnation.
It's about understanding what our soul truth is and devoting to that.
It's also a time where we have the opportunity to really burn away our karmic entanglements. And that's why you'll see a lot of Vedic astrologers really making the most of this time. They know how potent it is in prayer, in mantra, in meditation, and using this fire Dragon energy to purify, even if sometimes that feels like a loss.
This is opportunity to take responsibility for your vision.
Aquarius really says your gifts are not just for you, they are for the collective.
And I often say to my clients, is this a disservice?
Not you not sharing your wisdom, you're not sharing your gifts.
And so that's where the courage comes in.
This is also an opportunity to heal ancestral wounds.
It's the Opportunity to rewrite emotional patterns that have been handed down to you.
So notice what comes up for you.
So this eclipse is both an ending and a beginning.
So remembering during this time, you don't need to rush to act. You can sit in ritual, you can sit in reflection, allowing the shadows to reveal what needs to be seen, what needs to be let go of, what needs to be released, so that in days and weeks that follow, even months, you. You can. You can act from that clarity. And what I love most about the Aquarius energy is when we look at the symbolism of it being a water bearer.
It isn't a water element, it's actually air element.
And the water bearer is not just carrying ordinary water.
It's the waters of knowledge, of liberation, of cosmic remembrance.
And it's pouring the water out the symbolism. So it's like pouring it onto the collective so that the truth can no longer be ignored.
And so this is why, especially this eclipse, I really see things that have been hidden are going to be revealed and is always with a purpose. And so it might look like truth about systems, about communities, about friendship, about the roles that we play in society, about the outdated structures that we've unconsciously upheld.
And I always think about this exercise. I think it was Alan Watts, he gave it around writing an essay. He, he. I think it was him that. He said, like, to get into university, it would be great instead if you had to write an essay about your future vision of the world and what that would. What that would look like. Because if we don't dream about that, if we don't see that as a possible timeline or something that's possible, then we're just buying into what we're getting shown.
And so I just want you to.
[00:28:44] Speaker B: Think about that as well.
[00:28:45] Speaker A: What would the ultimate community look like for you? What structures do we have? Who is running society?
Can we go back to people that have ethics and morals and are more the philosophers?
[00:29:08] Speaker B: I just want you to create a bit of a vision.
[00:29:11] Speaker A: If you've never thought about it, I just want you to think about it.
And I also want to remind you that the water bearer is it. It's not hoarding the truth.
The symbolism is. It's being poured out freely. It's to nourish, it's to awaken, is to cleanse.
And so this eclipse energy, this is why I'm really excited about it, because it's no longer, you know, breaking free from, like, borrowed beliefs, and it's coming back to that authenticity. It's, yeah, that. That rebellious act and so wherever there's truth, that's where we become liberated.
[00:29:59] Speaker B: The truth is the light.
[00:30:01] Speaker A: And so yes, while I can acknowledge it's disabilizing, Aquarius is teaching us that freedom is born in the courage to live aligned to what is real.
And even if that distorts or disrupts the comfortable illusion that's being created.
So really thinking of this eclipse as that cosmic truth serum washing away distortion, handing us clarity that you didn't know.
[00:30:37] Speaker B: You were ready for.
And so that is what I want.
That is what I want to leave you with.
[00:30:45] Speaker A: And yeah, so I hope that you've enjoyed this episode.
