Show Notes

In this episode, we explore visibility as a spiritual initiation for women. To be fully seen - without shrinking, without compromise - is lineage work, ancestral healing and cultural restoration.

For centuries, women’s brilliance and authority have been feared, silenced and contained. But something is stirring. The feminine voice is rising - clear, strong, alive. This conversation is both a remembrance and a call to reclaim the spiritual power held within visibility.

[00:00:03] Welcome to Star Being. I'm Tara, your guide. Blending the wisdom of the stars, philosophy and soul centered conversation. Here we question, remember and reconnect with the stars, with self, with true being. I hope these conversations ignite within you resonance, awakening and a deeper knowing. Together we open to more truth, more magic, more you. [00:00:28] Welcome back to Starbing. This is a solo episode and before I sat down to record this episode, I asked myself, what should I say? [00:00:39] What would you like to hear? [00:00:41] And then I was thinking that I want to speak from the heart, not expectation, and really from what is alive for me right now. And, and what I've been moving through over the past year. [00:00:59] And I can also see with my clients that rippling through them as well. [00:01:07] And so what I've been unpacking deeply in the last year is if you've been following for a little while, you'll know that I was in the corporate world. I was in strategic marketing. I was at my last company for the last 12 years. Years. [00:01:27] And it was something that I made a lot of sacrifices for. I made a lot of personal sacrifices. [00:01:37] I worked ridiculously hard in this position. [00:01:43] And it was, if I'm completely honest, it was a huge chunk of my identity, even though I have side projects, side quests in my astrology and a few other side projects. And I always thought that I would always be in strategic marketing and in this position. [00:02:13] And it's really interesting what unfolded because before it unfolded and I left, I have to say I was fully in my power in that position. I was clear, I was confident, I was capable. [00:02:32] And because of that, I became a threat. [00:02:37] So my presence, my clarity, my voice, it really unsettled people and it wasn't accepted. [00:02:48] And the response was really unmistakable. That environment made it very clear that there wasn't space for me to shine in that way. [00:03:00] And as infuriating and unjust as it was in this retrospect, it isn't to do with failing or unworthiness. [00:03:16] And I've really looked at it and dissected it. [00:03:21] And what I've moved through is that it came down to power. [00:03:28] And what that taught me is that true visibility, that undeniable visibility, is still threatening when a woman claims it fully. [00:03:41] And it really causes a threat to systems, to structures, and to society itself. [00:03:52] And I've really carried that with me internally. [00:03:56] My body from long, long ago has learned to flinch at recognition, to shrink when someone praises me, to protect myself from being too seen. [00:04:14] And so it has taken me months, almost a year to really notice it. [00:04:21] And to name it. [00:04:23] And that contraction is, yeah, not born of fear of my light, but a reflection of a world that really tried to dim it. [00:04:38] And so this episode I wanted to mirror and talk about this pattern that I see running through women everywhere, this ancestral imprint, a nervous system remembering that being fully seen can be dangerous. [00:04:58] And that presence and power have been historically met with suspicion, hostility, or control. [00:05:07] And being visible, truly visible, is a spiritual, ancestral rite of passage. And so I want to explore that tension with you in this episode and that. [00:05:23] That contraction between wanting to shine, to expand, to be fully seen, and feeling the body, the nervous system, and, yeah, that lineage that instinctively contracted. And I want to speak to what it takes to reclaim visibility, to inhabit it without apology, without shrinking, without compromise, and to do it openly from the heart. [00:05:57] And if I'm being really honest, I didn't even realize I was struggling with visibility or how afraid of I was until I began peeling back layers and doing the deep inner work and confronting the fears I had really carried unknowingly for years. [00:06:16] And now, as I stand on the precipice of launching a new business, it's a sanctuary for conscious women to rise, to create, and to fully be seen. [00:06:32] It's become crystal clear. [00:06:35] This fear, this contraction, has been shaping how I show up. [00:06:43] And this is the work that I'm continuing to do and transforming it into power, clarity, and embodiment. [00:06:55] So when we explore visibility to be fully seen, not in fragments, not in ways that feel safe or convenient, but entirely without compromise, without shrinking, what I have realized is that the world cannot reflect back what you have not first claimed for yourself. [00:07:20] And for centuries, women have been taught to soften, to quiet, to hide our brilliance, our wisdom, our presence. [00:07:29] And we've been met with suspicion, fear, and control. [00:07:34] I have been, over the last year, been diving into a lot of historical texts, and Cleopatra has been particular interesting to me, the way that she commanded. [00:07:48] And so she had this authority, and she ruled with intellect, yes, but also with her presence. [00:07:59] Her visibility was power, and it was a power that threatened empires. [00:08:07] And I also think at the same time about hypasia in Alexandria. She was a philosopher and an astronomer, and she had this wisdom, and her voice was very radical and commanding, and it actually provoked violence. [00:08:27] And I think about the priestesses of Dendera, the. The custodians of the stars that carried the knowledge that shifted civilizations. And yet they were also constrained, encoded, and often erased from history. [00:08:50] All of these women were. [00:08:52] And they're not simply these historical figures. They were embodiments of living wisdom. [00:09:00] And. And they transmitted their power through their presence. They knew what it meant to be fully seen, and yet they were also vulnerable. [00:09:13] The weight of visibility, the risk, the jealousy, the danger was real. [00:09:19] Their courage and presence became encoded in the feminine lineage. [00:09:25] And it's like it's his memory imprinted across our generations. And this, it lives within us. And I've found it within myself. [00:09:37] And it's almost this subtle tightening of the chest at praise, the hesitation before claiming space, and this whisper to be smaller, don't be too much. [00:09:56] And I know that we've all had this voice. [00:10:00] And so I really feel that visibility for women has always carried a spiritual weight. [00:10:09] It's a rite of passage, a reclaiming of sacred authority. [00:10:15] When we step forward, we don't just speak for ourselves. We're activating something ancient. So this fear that rises in these moments that I really feel is coming from that ancestral memory. [00:10:30] And our bodies remember the times when brilliance was met with danger, when authority was silenced and when power was controlled. [00:10:41] And when we look at this spiritually, we think of the throat chakra and how that holds the silence voiced of our ancestors, the medicine women, the midwives, the oracles, the queens, the philosophers whose truths were dangerous. [00:11:01] And then also the solar plexus, which stores a memory of stolen authority or power taken and leadership that was constrained. [00:11:11] And then the heart, it's remembering the pain of generations who gave endlessly but were forbidden to receive fully, and who nurtured others while learning that recognition, love, and praise could feel perilous. [00:11:28] And these energy centers in our body, in our subtle bodies, they carry this history of our lineage. [00:11:37] And I feel like this is a time where they're needing to be activated, to be untangled and to be restored. And this is why I want to bring light to this subject. [00:11:53] Carl Jung spoke of the shadow, the hidden terrain within us, the parts that we've learned to deny, disown, or fear. And for women, stepping into visibility often awakens that shadow. [00:12:08] It surfaces the parts of us where we're taught to shrink. [00:12:14] And that voice that says, it's not safe to shine, you're too much. [00:12:21] Stay small. [00:12:23] These voices, they are an invitation to do the deeper work, the work of reclaiming ourselves fully. [00:12:33] So being fully seen asks us to meet that shadow with courage. And it asks us to turn towards those parts of ourselves that we were told to disappear and bring them. Yeah, bring them home with that compassion and that honesty. And this is where I feel that this is really that spiritual work of that remembrance and that, like, really reclaiming that and the timing of this work. We are living through the rise of the feminine. We're having this collective awakening. It's the end of the age of Pisces, which is a time of separation, illusion, and control. [00:13:19] So this is an opportunity for us to have that enlightenment and unity and compassion. And so women's power was feared. It was contained, and it was erased. [00:13:35] And also, when we think about the wisdom of the mature woman that was treated as threatening and that visibility historically and what we're still seeing today was punished. And that, yeah, power in women was, yeah, treated like a fire, like it was something to be controlled. [00:14:03] And so this collective shift that we have that you might be seeing as well, where I really feel that women's voices are becoming clearer and stronger and more alive. [00:14:17] And it's the feminine remembering itself. [00:14:21] And this is what I have really been experiencing, that we need to first see ourselves clearly for our voice to land. [00:14:33] And so when we see ourselves fully, the world has something real to reflect. [00:14:41] And so this is where I really feel that every woman that is stepping forward is opening the way for those who follow. [00:14:53] And so this is why I have been thinking about these historical figures, women, and really thinking about how they radiated and what they wished the world to acknowledge and coming back to that visibility beginning within. [00:15:18] And so I've been thinking a lot about claiming visibility as standing in your truth without shrinking and bringing that light and, yeah, letting it shine. [00:15:38] And I feel that, you know, there's aspects of this that are definitely destabilizing, and it's also requiring a really steady nervous system as well, to really start dissolving those scripts to. That have equated visibility with danger. And I would love to hear your thoughts on this, because when we. [00:16:07] And it's subtle, right? It can be in hesitation, it can be in perfectionism, and, you know, the fear of praise is a big one, and alchemizing this and transforming it into courage, into alignment. [00:16:29] And so the practical Virgo in me really wants to give some homework and integration in how we can lean into this visibility work. [00:16:45] And if you are. [00:16:50] If you're listening to this podcast, you're already very familiar with Louise Hay's work, and she actually has a book on mirror work. [00:17:00] And this is a really powerful practice where you look into your eyes and say, depending on what affirmation or what you're wanting to embody. [00:17:13] But if we're working with visibility here, saying, to your eyes, it is safe for me to be seen. My light serves the collective I am worthy of love, recognition and abundance. [00:17:28] I really love this one. [00:17:30] And, yeah, I highly recommend looking into mirror work. My mum actually introduced me to this work. [00:17:37] Also journaling. [00:17:40] My clients going to get sick of me saying this, but journaling is so powerful because when we are journaling, our mind has to focus on one thought and it has to finish the thought. [00:17:57] And it is just such a powerful way for us to get in contact with our soul and ourself. [00:18:05] So I want to, yeah, recommend to you to take some time and trace back some moments where you've shrunk or dimmed or where you think this has come from. [00:18:21] And, you know, it could be in childhood and thinking about, yeah, that rewriting it with courage and that conscious reclaiming of that situation and then embodiment of the energetics, really focusing on those energy centers of the throat, the solar plexus and the heart. [00:18:53] So you're speaking your truth, accepting the praise and, yeah, receiving it fully. [00:19:02] And I really feel that when every woman steps into her light, this is shifting the collective. [00:19:14] And so especially with our wisdom, with our experience, like, no longer thinking of that as a threat and really reclaiming that sacred energy of the conscious feminine power. [00:19:34] And so taking that time as well to recognize your brilliance, your wisdom, your voice. [00:19:40] And again, like seeing ourselves and so then that the world can see us. [00:19:49] And so, yeah, I just want to encourage you to step into your visibility today and what that looks like for you. [00:19:57] And yeah, every word you speak, every truth you embody is, you know, part of that healing and that reclaiming. [00:20:09] And so, yeah, again, I would love to know your thoughts on this. It has been a big one for me to really sit with. [00:20:20] And like I said, I didn't think that this was really what was holding me back. [00:20:27] And yeah, so I just wanted to bring this to light. So I hope that you've enjoyed this episode and as always, leave me a comment. [00:20:38] And if you've been loving starbing, please leave me a rating and a review. [00:20:45] And thanks again for listening and I will speak to you soon.
